SupermealX and Soylent versus Food
I have a deep interest in the subject of health, sports and nutrition. My kindle is populated with books like The 4-Hour Body, The Purposeful Primitive, Body By Science, The Swing, Finding Ultra, Easy Strength and Born To Run. Over the past 4 years I have followed the paths of varied experts in the field. But for me my experiment of consuming SupermealX or Soylent over the past 12 months has yielded the best results. The easiest systems and habits prescribed in all the books I have read do not come close to the convenience of drinking the exact quantity of macro and micro nutrients that my body requires in under 3 minutes. Here is why:
1. Shopping for food is a giant pain in the ass
I don’t know about you, but I hate shopping for food. Currently, I am on a month long business trip to Singapore so I took this opportunity to go back to shopping, cooking and eating like everyone around me. I regret the decision to not carry a 7-day batch of The Perfect Meal on the trip because I have spent more time and energy buying food than consuming it. It sucks! Soylent introduced me to a new way of life. You will only know how relieving it is to never shop for food again once you try it.
2. Will anyone precisely measure the recommended daily intake? Probably Not!
These days my protein rich breakfast contains eggs, cheese (I love cheese!) and ham. I try to avoid bread on the weekdays. What about Vitamin A, C, D, K, B, Choline, Manganese, Potassium… the list goes on. I am too busy to create an excel sheet, figure out the nutritional content of each food item, add it all up and then figure out what else I need to eat to meet my nutritional needs of the day. I am certain that there is a daily deficiency of basic elements that make my mind and body work at its best. If I had the exact dose of what I should be having based on decades of published research in the field of nutrition then I would probably be able to perform better. I am missing my Perfect Meals on this trip!
